Use these best practices to prepare for launch day and manage participant responses effectively once your first messages begin sending in Modern Campus Message.
Log in at Launch Time
Make sure you are logged in and ready to respond when your first messages start to send. Being available at launch time helps ensure that participant replies are seen and handled promptly.
Mark Messages as Read
After you follow up on a message, mark it as read. This helps your colleagues know that the message has already been handled and prevents participants from receiving duplicate responses.
Respond in a Timely Manner
People often expect text messages to be answered faster than emails. Do not let messages received during business hours sit overnight. Respond as soon as you are able throughout the day.
Adjust Future Messages
Keep the conversation relevant by reviewing upcoming messages for individual participants. If a participant answers a question that is scheduled to be asked in an upcoming message, or says something that indicates they should not receive a particular message, delete that message from their future messages.
Launch Day Checklist
Before and during launch, confirm that your team is ready to:
- Log in before the first messages begin sending.
- Monitor incoming replies throughout the day.
- Respond to messages in a timely manner.
- Mark messages as read after follow-up.
- Coordinate with colleagues to avoid duplicate responses.
- Review and adjust future messages when a participant’s response makes a scheduled message unnecessary.
