How do I opt a contact out?

Message automatically opts out any contact who texts STOP, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE. If a contact indicates they would like to opt out using different wording, you can manually opt them out.

Opt a Contact Out Individually

Follow the steps below to manually opt a single contact out of messages.

1. Open the contact’s profile.

2. In the Status section, look for the green checkmark and Opted In label.

3. Click Set as opted out to the right of the status.

After opting the contact out:

• A red X appears, indicating the contact is now opted out of the program.

Opting a contact out does not prevent them from texting you. If an opted-out contact replies and you would like to respond or opt them back in to receive messages, click here to learn how to restart contacts.
