Rename a Data Field Using a Display Name
Data fields can be renamed using display names. While the original variable name must be used in all CSV uploads and data integrations, the display name is what users see throughout the Message platform.
Update a Field Display Name
Select the Programs tab at the top of your portal.
Click Manage Fields.
From the left-hand menu, select the program that contains the field you want to update.
Locate the field and click the pencil (edit) icon in the Edit column.
Enter the new name in the Display Name text box.
Click Save.
The updated display name appears immediately in contact profiles, searches, and other areas of the platform.
Important Notes
Display names do not affect CSV imports or integrations.
Variable names remain unchanged and must still be used in all data uploads.
Display names must be unique within a program.
