You can think of the Contacts tab as an address book for all the contacts in your workload. If you have access to multiple programs, you can view and search for contacts across these programs and group_lists. The main tab gives you a comprehensive overview of your contacts, and includes helpful search and message features. You can also select an individual contact to take a deep dive into a specific participant's data and message history.
Filter your contacts
If you're looking for specific contacts, it can be daunting to be met with hundreds of names on this page. Luckily, we have a few tools in the navigation panel to filter your contacts and help you connect with the right students.
The first tool is our program drop-down. This tool allows you to filter contacts based on their program and/or group_list. This is especially helpful for users with multiple group_lists in their caseload who are looking to search within one group specifically. Similarly, this can be useful for AccountAdmin and ProgramAdmin who have to sort through several programs, in addition to group_lists.
The other critical tool for searching for specific contacts is our dual search function. For simple searches, simply type in the name of the student (first or last) in the search bar to access their contact data. If you are looking to filter down to specific contact segments, however, our advanced search is an extremely useful tool. For more information on how our search features work, check out these articles below:
Advanced searches work best under one program or over programs that share the same fields.
Refine your search further by including multiple criteria in your advanced search.
Contact Details
The simplest way to look up the information stored on a contact is to click on that contact to view their contact details. This profile allows you to view all the data stored on that contact, their message history, and scheduled messages, all in one place.
As you can see in the example above, this includes the basics, like which programs and group_lists they're a part of, their opt-in status and phone validity, ID's, name, phone number, and timezone. Below you will also find all your custom fields for that program. Not only can you view your contact's data here, but it is also easy to update an individual's information and save.

You'll also notice the message history on the right side of the screen. Here you can view the contact's full message history, view scheduled future messages, and send your own messages on the fly. This split screen is instrumental for tailoring responses to specific questions and giving your contacts personalized support.
This message overview works similarly to the Messages Tab, in that you can send messages to contacts immediately or schedule them for a future send. You can also view, edit, and delete future messages for an individual contact. Check out the below articles for more information:

Send a Bulk Message
You can schedule or send messages to more than one contact from this screen. If you'd like to send or schedule a message to students from different groups, you can select the "New Message" button and type ahead the contacts, groups, or programs that you want to message.
Additionally you can send a message to the contact results from an advanced search. Once you run the search from the filter column, click on the arrow to the right of the the "New Message" button and select "Send to current results" from the dropdown.
"More Actions" data shortcuts
Next to the "New Message" button in the upper right corner, you'll also see the "More Actions" button.
Both the "import contact data" and "export contact data" drop-downs will take you to the respective pages under the Programs Tab. These are helpful shortcuts if you find you want to look over the spreadsheet of contact data from your program or realize there are some bulk edits or uploads you'd like to make.
