  1. How do you do the create a group like the one with the "fafsa_complete = FALSE" example?

    You will start by creating a new custom field and then make sure the data is added to your data file or either manual or automatic uploads!

     

  2. So are you saying for each campaign we need to create a datafile that meets the criteria?

    Campaigns and individual messages will run based on the most recent data file upload. You do not need to separate uploads each time you run a campaign!

     

  3. Are we still unable to remove custom fields within the contacts? We have fields that are no longer helpful based on our program needs. So now, they tend to just take up space within the contact pages.

    You are able to hide fields so they don't show up on the contact card. You will not be able to remove them from your data file.

     

  4. How do you Add Custom Field, that isn't already on the Manage Field area?

  5. How do you retrieve the response to an automatic keyword response to do a follow-up?

    If you want to save the response and follow up based on the data, you will need to do a Save Response. You can then set up a program message or use advanced search to send based on the new segment of contacts.

     

  6. How do you prevent a saved response from getting overwritten with a data refresh?

    For this one - it is best to collect data to a unique field to prevent it from being overwritten.  We have an option on our side to create fields that begin with sys.  These fields will not show up in your platform but can be viewed through an export file.

     

  7. How can you delete a contact that is inactive?

    We don't recommend fully deleting contacts, but there are several strategies for archiving contacts. Reach out to message-support@moderncampus.com to discuss options!

     

  8. For submitting a weekly campaign like this, do  we need to submit a different template for each week or could they go under the same one we submit? (but making sure we identify the different messages going out each week)

    You can submit your entire campaign to message-support@moderncampcus.com.  You can also schedule your messages in your platform. 

     

  9. How much time in advance do you have to contact support to set this up?

    Around 3 business days for us to set up and test. Longer if you have an extensive campaign.

     

  10. When is the next modern campus user conference?

  11. How can we delay the automatic response? We have had students reply thinking we are bots from how fast the reply is?

    A message that includes a programmed response will go out as soon as the text comes in that triggers it.  There is not a way to delay this.
