Messaging: How do I add a link to a text message?

Sometimes you may want to include a link in your text message that redirects to a website, form, and/or additional information. Make sure to paste in the entire link, even if it seems long. Using free link shorteners such as bit.ly or tinyurl.com will most likely result in the phone carrier flagging your text as spam, which we don’t want to happen!

Including the full link means that your text message may be a little longer and exceed the 160-300 character range we recommend for texts. Don’t worry—as long as your content is within that recommended range, your long links shouldn’t cause students to opt-out at higher rates. That’s what the 1600 character count is there for!
