What happens when we hit our program or contacts limit?
You'll want to be cognizant of your contact limit (we base it off of how many contacts that you actively text each month, not how many are in the program). If you reach out to us at message-support@moderncampus.com, we will be able to help you permanently delete contacts if you'd like.
Do you have any built-in tools for cleaning out old contacts?
If you want to maintain message history, you could also just flip the older contacts to group_list = inactive, and phone_valid = false
Are there analytics in modern campus that show the usage per program?

If we mark conversations as "inactive" does that just take the conversation out of the active conversations tab, or does it remove them permanently?
If you mark conversations as "No Action Needed" that just moves them to the "No Action Needed" folder. The message will no longer appear in the Active Conversations folder. There is no way to remove anything permanently in the Message platform without Customer Support intervention - so rest assured you will not be deleting anything!
Is the customer ID on your end? When I was trained on it I was told it was unimportant - my question is can we put the students' ID as the customer ID?
We do not provide customer ID - we provide signalvine_id. We always tell customers to include some sort of customer_id as it is unique to the contact and will make things easier for you to update their data in a CSV import. Yes, you can use student ID as their customer ID.
Can we have custom data fields for a message?
Absolutely! Whatever fields you create in your program can be added into a message. Ex: gpa would be a field, and you can text a student their gpa.
I would like to include term_code from student info system in the message
Yes, you can include term_code in the message. As long as the field has data in it, you'll be able to add that to your message content.

If we have more than one record for a contact, would a message be sent for each record or a combined message for all such record can be sent? For example, we have data with term_code, student_id, CRN(course), there are more than one record for each term_code+student_id, with more than one CRN.
If it is separated by commas within your data import then that is how it will appear in your text message. Whatever it says in the contact's data profile is what will appear in your message to them using custom fields. You can as many custom fields in your message as you wish, though.
How do we find what our limit is and is the limit per program or is it organizational limit? If the latter is there a way to view the analytics for the entire organization instead of one program at a time?
Hi there, you can find out your contact limit by reaching out to your Account Manager. If you're unsure, you can always reach out to us at message-support@moderncampus.com and we can point you in the right direction.
Can we send a single message for that term_code, student contact and multiple CRNs?
You can send a single message with multiple custom fields. Example: Hi [first_name], welcome to [term_code]! This is your advisor [advisor name]. (etc)
Does the data for each contact need to be updated individually even if it's a group edit? If it's a bulk edit to data, how do you do that?

Is there a limitation on the number of contacts that can be uploaded at one time?
No there is no limit on the number of contacts that can be uploaded at once. I would be cognizant on the number of contacts you do upload as you should be within contractual limits!
If you have more than one record for a contact in a program, will it send one message for each record?
Each contact is unique - so only one message gets sent per contact.
When they get the website link- does it actually appear as a clickable link?
Yes!
Are the auto uploads an additional fee?
The automated imports are an option for you to import data into your programs. It is typically included in your contact pricing. Salesforce is the only extra fee.
