Webinar Q&A

Can the message templates be sent out conditionally, like 24 hours after they've been added to the program?

Great question! Yes, that would be an event triggered message. In the date/time field, you would note created_at + 1 day. It will send at the exact same time of day they were imported into the program. If using manual imports, this works great, if you have automated data imports, we recommend setting a time such as created_at + 1 day @ 9:00am to ensure folks receive at a reasonable hour - oftentimes automated imports occur super early morning.

Should you need direct assistance with this, you are welcome to email our support team for one on one help! Our email is message-support@moderncampus.com or put in a ticket (look at the top right corner of this page!).

How do we access the message templates?

You can contact support with the program name and we can provide the program/account admin with the current template for that program. If the program has not used messages before, we provide a blank template to get things started. Our email is message-support@moderncampus.com or put in a ticket (look at the top right corner of this page!).

Is there an opportunity to stagger sends/replies especially when they include phone numbers to avoid phone lines becoming overwhelmed?

If there are concerns about overwhelming a phone line, you could space out the send time of the original text across populations. Unfortunately, since students/contacts can reply at any point, we aren’t able to control the timing of the automated responses that go out.

What about if someone "likes" or "loves" a text....can you respond based on that?

Since Message is not a smart phone, those come through the inbox as messages like “Laura liked [INSERT TEXT HERE]”

Does capitalization effect the responses (no vs NO)?

It is not case sensitive, but it does need spacing/special characters to be exact. Because of this, we recommend brainstorming other words or phrases you may want to be accepted as responses.
